Second Age Theatre Company

OVERVIEW

  • Description

Founded in 1989, Second Age Theatre Company was dedicated to the production of classic texts. Each year the company undertook the production of one of Shakespeare’s tragedies along with another major work from the classical canon. The ethos of each production was to present the text in a clear and accessible manner. Central to the company's policy was its commitment to touring and the company regularly presented its program at various venues nationwide. Matinee performances were made available for students studying the text at Leaving Cert. In addition to each production the company provided Post-Show discussions and Workshops for teachers and compiled resource notes for students of the text.
