Ger Bourke's play 'Banshee Makers' won the Corcadorca Playwright Award in 2000. He won the Hughes & Hughes National Short Story Award in 1998 and the RTÉ P.J. O'Connor Award in 1999 for his play 'The Dead of the Night'.
