The Plains of Enna

OVERVIEW

  • Playwright

    Pat Kinevane

  • Setting

The Plains of Enna and in Italy during 1967 and 1968.

  • Synopsis

The Denis family lives on a small farm at Ballard; the Powers live in Enna House. The two families have been feuding for a generation, but live a safe distance apart. It all goes wrong when Hady Power rescues Kora Denis from an electric fence and an impetuous, forbidden love affair begins, resurrecting past rivalries, buried vendettas and troubled ghosts. Set in the middle of Ireland and the middle of Italy between 1967 and 1968, The Plains of Enna is a tale of love, betrayal and revenge, loosely based on the myth of Persephone.
