Theatre of Paranoia

OVERVIEW

  • Playwright

    Miche Doherty

  • Notes

Theatre of Paranoia was initially presented as a companion piece to 'Fingertips' by Thomas McLaughlin (listed separately).

  • Synopsis

It’s Kevin Jones’s birthday and a Dramagram is promised to him by his Mum. The Theatre of Paranoia which turns up, however, is a day early and the Kevin Jones Story it performs is not at all what is expected. Looking under the surface and probing hidden places, the Theatre of Paranoia proposes to expose the real Kevin Jones, initially simply inviting him to join in acting out his planet-saving fantasies. Rapidly, however, the company progresses to a strange improvisation, where Kevin discovers that both his own conscience, and theatre itself, is on a never-ending trial.
