  • Synopsis

Drowning is a contemporary rock-musical play set in a working class Dublin housing estate in 1984. Luke, the central character, lives with a dysfunctional family in a world of social deprivation and disadvantage. He escapes into a dream world where he is 'Ossie Stench', rock star and lead singer with the Tomahawks. He is, however, constantly brought back to reality by his family. Drowning is the story of Luke’s struggle to reconcile his love for his family with his overpowering need to escape from them.
