Aidan Mathews
Written in collaboration with the company.
The play's setting is indeterminate, although it imagines several environments including a club, a square and a maze of streets.
The Diamond Body is a murder story and a case history. The protagonist is Stephanos, the hermaphroditic owner of the Easter Island Statues Club, a gay discotheque on a Greek island. The antagonist is the local population whose attitude toward the stranger in their midst moves inevitably from resentment through revulsion to open violence.
