Bumbógs & Bees

OVERVIEW

  • Playwright

    Frances Kay

  • Notes

A play for 4-7 year olds.

  • Synopsis

Bumbógs & Bees explores the way social groups function. It presents a ready made, fully ordered world – that of the Honey Bee – and invites children to find out for themselves through songs, movement and story just what it is that makes a beehive buzz. Together they find out how bees communicate, and why everyone in a hive has to do things a certain way. And how come drones like Bumbóg never seem to do any work at all. They also encounter the greatest mystery of them all – what happens when a colony of bees decides to swarm – and experience how one bee can, like one person, make a difference to their community.
