Joe O'Byrne
The play is an exploration of what happens to a man when he has been incarcerated for a long time, even though he has committed no real crime. The play was inspired by the situation of hostages held in Lebanon, such as Brian Keenan, and uses the basic image from the Dumas novel to explore this.
