    Opening on three elderly characters in Minnesota, who are nagging and remenbering at each other, we soon fade back to their beginnings in Norway as an orphan girl, the village playboy and the weakling son of a stern father all emigrate to America. In time weakling and wife come to share their home with playboy and history takes it's course.
