    Originally commissioned by Radio Eireann and broadcast in 1952, The Pike Theatre Club staged Moving Out and A Garden Party as a short two-act piece entitled 'The New House'. It was presented as a companion piece to 'The Big House'.

  • Synopsis

    The Hannigan's have moved out to the suburbs from the city centre, and Mrs. Hannigan wants to make use of the gardens front and rear. Having bought a load of manure, she instructs the men of the house to dig it in to the soil...but the menfolk will try any way possible to avoid lifting a finger....
