Molière's comedy concerns Mr. Jordan, a rich man without much sense, who wishes to rise up the social ladder at all costs. He's taken advantage of by impoverished aristocrats who want him to restore their own failing fortunes.

Incidental Music by Lully arranged by Adolphe Gebler. Mr. Kelly designed and Mr. Du Boulay made the dancers' costumes, while Lord Longford designed the costumes for the cast and Mr. Bonn supervised the execution of his plans.
