First performed as 'A Disciple', the play was published under this title in 'The Dublin Magazine' (Volume XII:1)in 1937. It was later republished in 1947 in a collection of Deevy's one-act play's under the title 'In Search of Valour', and has also been performed and published as 'The Enthusiast'.
Longing to escape her dull and restricted life, the young domestic servant Ellie takes inspiration from Shakespeare's 'Corialanus' and sets out to find herself a hero...
