    A portrait of Molly Allgood, the lover of JM Synge, and the first actress to interpret the lead character of Pegeen Mike in The Playboy of the Western World. The play takes place on the day of Synge's funeral, as Molly walks distractedly around Dublin without direction and without relief, her mind a mix of memory and desire, trying – and eventually succeeding – to find how life and love might be reclaimed despite the pain of loss.
