Field Day Theatre Company
Description
Field Day Theatre Company was founded by Stephen Rea and Brian Friel in 1980. The company's first production, the world premiere of Brian Friel's 'Translations', was presented at the Guildhall in Derry in September 1980. During its existence the company produced ten new plays by some of Ireland's leading writers, as well as the celebrated Field Day Anthology of New Irish Writing and the Field Day Pamphlets series.
