DEIRDRE HINES

Deirdre Hines graduated from the Samuel Beckett Centre in Trinity College Dublin in 1989 with a degree in Drama and English. Her play, Howling Moons, Silent Sons, was performed at the Dublin Theatre Festival in 1991 and won the Stewart Parker Trust Award for that year. Apart from her professional playwriting work, she also writes extensively for youth groups and primary schools. Hines was awarded an Arts Council bursary in 1994 and again in 1997.
