MIRIAM GALLAGHER

Miriam Gallagher, author, dramatist and screenwriter, was born in Waterford and studied drama in London (LAMDA). Her plays have been performed in Ireland, Europe, USA and Canada and her work has been translated into Irish, Dutch, Finnish and Russian. Her selected plays, entitled Fancy Footwork, were published by the Society of Irish Playwrights in 1997. Gallagher received an award from the Cultural Relations Committee to present work at the 5th International Women's Playwrights Conference in Athens and Delphi in 2000. Her radio plays have been broadcast by RTÉ and her film Gypsies was screened at the Lincoln Center, New York and in San Francisco.
