Phillip McMahon

Phillip McMahon is a playwright and director based in Dublin. He has directed and toured a number of shows with long time collaborator, drag queen Panti, and was co-writer and co-producer on Conor Horgan’s esteemed documentary The Queen of Ireland. His work has shown at the Abbey Theatre Dublin, National Theatre UK, Irish Arts Center New York, Traverse Edinburgh, across Australia, Europe, Canada and beyond. Phillip is co-founder and co-director of THISISPOPBABY, wherein he was co-creator and co-curator of the THISISPOPBABY POPTOPIA performance venue at Electric Picnic Music and Arts Festival, Queer Notions cross arts festival, WERK Performance/Art/Club, Where We Live festival of performance and ideas and RIOT. He is a former member of Dublin Youth Theatre and National Youth Theatre, he was Writer In Association at the Abbey Theatre 2009/10 and is currently Artistic Associate at the LyricHammersmith Theatre, London. He was a participant in Six in the Attic, an Irish Theatre Institute resource sharing initiative, from 2014–2016.
