DESMOND FORRISTAL

1930 - 2012

Desmond Forristal was born in Dublin and educated at O'Connell School and Belvedere College. He studied philosophy at UCD and theology at Holy Cross College, Dublin, where he was ordained a priest in 1955. He served as curate in several Dublin parishes and became involved in film and television work with the Radharc Film unit, first as a writer and later as a director. Forristal also contributed articles to a number of journals and was stage and screen critic for The Furrow for many years.
