1878 - 1957

Edward John Moreton Drax Plunkett, was born in London on the 24th of July 1878. In 1909 a play written at the request of W.B. Yeats, The Glittering Gate, opened at the Abbey Theatre to critical and public acclaim; many more successful plays followed and at one point, five Dunsany works were running simultaneously in New York. In addition to his play writing, he was also a prolific novelist and short story writer.
