M.J. FARRELL

1904 - 1996

M.J. Farrell was the pseudonym Molly Keane used for all of her plays, and most of her novels. She was born in Co Kildare, as Mary Nesta Skrine, and married Bobby Keane, of a Wexford squirearchical family, in 1938. Keane is best known for her late novel Good Behaviour (1981), which she published under her own name. Between 1928 and 1956 she published 11 novels under the pseudonym M.J. Farrell. Plays under the same name include Dukes and Drakes, Treasure Hunt, and Dazzling Prospect.
