MÍCHEÁL BREATHNACH

1881 - 1908

Born in Inverin, in Co. Galway. He wrote many essays and articles for journals and papers such as 'An Claidheamh Soluis' and 'Irisleabhar na Gaeilge'. Of the works he translated 'Cnoc na Gabha' from Charles Kickham's 'Knocknagow'is the most notable. He was senior professor in Coláiste Chonnacht in Tourmakeady in Mayo and also worked for a short while in St. Jarleth's in Tuam.
