George O'Brien

1945 -

George O'Brien was born in Enniscorthy and grew up in Lismore, Co. Waterford. Among his literary publications are an autobiographical trilogy - The Village of Longing (1987), Dancehall Days (1988) and Out of Our Minds (1994) - and a number of works of criticism, including In a Harbour Green: Celebrating Benedict Kiely (2019). George is Professor Emeritus of English at Georgetown University, Washington DC.
