    During the Irish Land Wars of the 1870's, a young brother and sister are evicted from their Mayo farm and driven to the unfamiliar surroundings of Dublin. Their story is set against the political upheavals of the time, especially Charles Stewart Parnell's doomed relationship with Kitty O'Shea.
