    O'Donovan deals with the early part of Shaw's Life, opening on a Christmas Eve in Synge Street, Dublin, Shaw's birtrhplace. Mr. Shaw (Father) is portrayed as a feckless person and inadequate parent, while Mrs. Shaw abandons both her husband and son to pursue a career in London. The play demonstrates the effect Shaw's family had on his adolescence and the anarchic spirit of his creative genius.
