    The play considers questions of morality. On a a summer night the Professor is working on his research. The Senator arrives to remind the Professor that he has been called before the House of the American Activities Committee. The Professor refuses to go. The Actress had been shooting a film. In this film, she existed only in a man's imagination. She wants someone to believe she is intelligent. The Senator impounds the Professor's work.
